Perfect for first-time trekkers, this longer western route allows more time for acclimatization and improves overall summit success. Ideal choice for the beginners and first-time trekkers.
Known as the classic “Whisky Route,” the Machame Route is one of the most scenic ways to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, featuring diverse landscapes, steeper early sections, and excellent acclimatization on the 7-day itinerary for higher summit success rates.
The longest standard option available. Maximum time to adjust, quieter northern slopes, then joins the homestretch.
The oldest route and also know as Coca-Cola route. The only route with huts for accommodation for the trekkers. Also unique as it follows the same path up and down, fastest schedules are tough on the body.
Approaching Mount Kilimanjaro from the north, the Rongai Route is known for its peaceful trails, steady acclimatization, and unique mountain views. Climbers descend via the Marangu Route, making the trek feel varied from start to finish.
The Umbwe Route is steep, wild, and relentlessly beautiful. A true challenge with jaw-dropping views at every turn.

Common Questions
Active fitness is enough to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. If you can comfortably hike for 6–8 hours a day carrying a 5kg daypack, you are physically capable of reaching the summit. Our slow and steady “pole, pole” pacing approach greatly improves acclimatization and summit success, and we recommend 2–3 months of cardio and hiking preparation before your trek.
